In this supplemental training module, we’ll be providing advice on how to migrate your site away from Elementor (and, in fact, any type of page builder or block builder that isn’t GeneratePress/GenerateBlocks.

Why is this necessary?

Well, there are a couple of reasons, really!

To make your site faster

Site speed is becoming increasingly important to Google. While page builders like Elementor have come a long way to ensure their plugin doesn’t bloat your site, having such an easy drag-and-drop interface is always going to come with a tradeoff, no matter how much they try to hide it.

For the sake of future-proofing your site, the very foundation of how GenerateBlocks and GeneratePress work means they’ll never bloat your site more than is needed, even should they add new features or update their plugins in the future.

To make your life easier

As we push forward into the future, we intend to offer even more done-for-you templates to our members so that designing a site and enhancing your content is as easy as copying and pasting our pre-designed blocks.

In order to do this, however, we needed to pick just one builder in order to simplify things.

While a lot of our course content will still, in theory, work perfectly fine regardless of your Page Builder, if you really want to get the most out of the training,

To give you more flexibility

While it may be hard to believe, you can probably replicate a good 95% of web designs with just GenerateBlocks alone.

Sure, it’s not always easy or necessary, but in years to come, as your site grows, having that ability to push your site even further becomes incredibly difficult when you’re bound by the blocks provided by a page builder like Elementor.

What does this process involve?

First, if you have a live site, removing a page builder like Elementor is going to make your site look pretty ugly.

We’ll start by creating a copy of your site, a staging site, so that you can safely break your site and rebuild it without sacrificing your existing rankings.

Finally, we’ve provided ready-made templates for you to copy and paste, but if you want to learn more about the how to create these from scratch, you can watch Gael’s design videos to get a deeper insight.

How long will this take?

Fortunately, not quite as long as you might expect if you followed our TASS training.

Instead of rebuilding every single article from scratch, we’ll be building out a smaller number of templates which will can instead be applied to all of your content.

Generally speaking, the whole process should be done in just a day or two of solid work.
